FMSB Updated to 1.0.3

Updated FMSmallBusiness to 1.0.3. Had 13 updates…

  1. Fix - Added an alert when trying to print an invoice with no items.
  2. Fix - Adjusted Address BillTo and ShipTo to five visible lines from four.
  3. Fix - Moved the Invoices - StatusSub Value List to the Custom file so it can be modified.
  4. Fix - Moving Activity Items to Invoices would relookup the unit price. We now get the unit price and override the lookup.
  5. Fix - Selecting Cancel when creating a new Document Template did not work.
  6. Fix - Spawning an Activity from an Event now creates an item for the Billable Time and an item for the Drive Time if needed.
  7. Fix - The default Price Type on Activites is now ‘Retail’.
  8. Fix - Updated the Unbilled Timers on Activities and Invoices so the Product is set using the ‘Timers and Event Code’ in settings. Now uses the Timer Title as the Description. Changed the Labor Item Retail and Wholesale starting quantity from 1 to 0 so partial hours/quantities have a unit price.
  9. Update - Added Template field to Document Info screen and added confirmation requirement when changing the layout or template for a document from the Document Info screen.
  10. Update - Changed Event Billing Statuses to simply ‘Needs Detail’. Now only Events that needs detail will be show on the Home layout.
  11. Update - Changed the way CalendarEvents are added to Activities and Invoices. Now uses same method as Timers.
  12. Update - Moved labels and envelopes to the existing custom layouts management system in settings.
  13. Update - Removed PDF Revisions limit setting.

FMSmallBusiness Updated to 1.0.2

Browser Bookmarklet to Fill In Form for iPhone or other browsers too…

Recently, I’ve been developing an iPhone interface to our FileMaker database, FMSmallBusiness <http://www.campsoftware.com/products/fmsmallbusiness.htm>.

To access the database, you need to enter in your login and password, but the iPhone doesn’t autofill the form. So I found a nice solution here: <http://mobilemind.net/iphone/>

However, it didn’t offer to fill in more than one field, so I tweaked it to auto fill in the first field of the first form as well as the second field of the first form using the code below. All you need to do is replace the values where you see USERNAME and PASSWORD. You can bookmark this or or right click it to copy the link.

These pages are great for sketching, but also work well when producing high fidelity drawings. The title bar and grid lines are photo-safe, so they won’t show up when you scan them into your computer. This is a great resource if you need sample data for your FileMaker database. Where do these identities come from? Name: Names are generated by randomly pulling a first and a last name out of a database. The database was compiled from public domain sources. Odds are that someone somewhere out of the billions of people who have lived on this planet has had the same name as the one generated. However, we assure you that these names are randomly generated. Street address: The house number is a randomly generated number. The street name is pulled from a database of plausible street names for the state/country being generated. Odds are that the generated street address is not valid. City, state, and postal code: We have compiled a database containing hundreds of thousands of valid city, state, and postal code combinations.
